Prado cafe serves farm to table dishes to guests visiting Prado eco-resort in Lubao Pampanga. Dishes are served with fresh ingredients coming from their farm located within the hacienda. The produce from the farm’s rice field, pond, livestock, and gardens with edible flowers, herbs, vegetables, and medicinal plants all contribute to the tastiness of the dishes they serve.
The cafe is situated in front of the eco-resort which is just along the highway. Designed with quirky kitschy details and nostalgic items, this restaurant is charming enough. Its ceiling displays hanging chairs, wooden wheels, and assorted knick-knacks. It is not too crowded so one can enjoy a quiet space when dining. It is mostly occupied with the resort’s guests during lunch and “merienda” time.
Serving home-cooked local specialties make this restaurant a must-visit cafe. To help you out with the list of unmissable dishes to try here, we’ve listed our favorites.
Kesong puti and pandesal paired with Guagua longanisa
The Guagua longganisa is slowly cooked and more on the soury and salty side. Meanwhile, the kesong puti is not as salty as the other cheeses.
Fried suman and tsokolate eh
For dessert, you can enjoy fried suman and dip it on the tsokolate eh. Pinipig is provided should you want to sprinkle it on the tsokolate eh for some crunch.
At lunch, Prado Cafe offers buffet-style dining. Several local dishes are served for you to choose from. The list provided here is not exhaustive and suited for a light eater. Some of the delish dishes that can make you keep coming back are itemized below.
Soup pumpkin soup
The pumpkin soup has a creamy taste with an aftertaste tang. It has a somewhat cooling feel on the throat. Its creaminess will somehow remind you of sbarro’s baked zitti
Pandan water is the perfect refreshment after touring around the hacienda. It has the right amount of sweetness and has an aromatic flavor that makes it smell appetizing.
Shrimp paste gives the right flavor on this rice. This dish is already tasteful but can still be best paired with served local viands.
Dynamite lumpia and fish crackers
These crunchy and slightly spicy chili poppers are made with green finger chilies. It is served along with other appetizers such as fish crackers.
This colorful food offering is definitely healthy filled with edible flowers and fresh vegetables with vinaigrette dressing
